Helping in school
We are most grateful for help of all kinds: to run the library; accompany groups of children on educational visits; hear reading under the teacher’s guidance; or to take groups in activities in which they are interested. Without parental help in the school we would find it difficult to maintain the high level of activity that we are able to offer.
All volunteers are required to obtain an Enhanced DBS with a Children’s Barred List check which the school will arrange on parents/carers’ behalf.
DBS Checks
Safeguarding our children is paramount and it is School Policy that all staff and volunteers undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check as well as a Children’s Barred List check. The results of these checks must have been received before volunteers can help on school trips or help with reading and other school activities.
To apply for an Enhanced DBS check, please contact Kelly Davidson (School Business Manager) through the School Office. You will need to supply three documents to confirm your identity – suitable forms of ID are set out in this document:
If you have signed up to the Update Service, please bring your original certificate (this must be an Enhanced Check/Child Workforce) into school together with proof of your identity. You will need to provide consent for us to check your status on the Update Service.
