Philosophical Teaching and Learning (PT&L)
At The Chandler, we are committed to cultivating a culture of thoughtful inquiry, where pupils are encouraged to think deeply, explore significant issues, and refine their capacity for reasoned judgment. Philosophical Teaching and Learning (PT&L) is central to these aims, fostering independence of thought and equipping pupils to question, challenge, and evaluate ideas critically.
Our approach to teaching and learning is grounded in PT&L. We believe children learn best when they are supported to develop habits of mind and dispositions that underpin creative, critical, caring, and collaborative thinking.
